Dr. Amit Chandra is one of the most senior and accomplished cardiac surgeons associated with Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram, where he serves as Director in the Department of Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Care. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Dr. Chandra has performed more than 10,000 cardiac operations, including CABG and valve surgeries, establishing himself as a leader in the field of cardiovascular surgery.
Dr. Chandra received his cardiac surgical training from the world-renowned Texas Heart Institute, USA, under the legendary Dr. Denton A. Cooley. He has been performing independent cardiac surgery since 1998 and has developed exceptional expertise in complex mitral valve repairs. He is one of the very few surgeons in India who have been performing complex mitral valve repair procedures and has pioneered a new repair technique in mitral valve repair called "Medanta Correction." His innovative work has been highly acclaimed worldwide and has been presented twice at the prestigious “Mitral Conclave New York, USA.”
