Dr. (Prof.) Amit Javed is a distinguished Gastrointestinal, Gastrointestinal Cancer, and Bariatric/Weight Loss surgeon with over 25 years of clinical experience. He currently serves as Principal Director & HOD of Laparoscopic GI, GI Onco, Bariatric & MIS Surgery at Fortis Gurgaon, where he leads a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced surgical care across general surgery, gastroenterology, hepatobiliary sciences, and surgical oncology. Dr. Javed has trained at some of India's most prestigious medical institutions, including AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He is ECFMG certified and holds the FACS degree from the American College of Surgeons, USA. His international experience includes faculty positions at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he was involved in liver, pancreas, and kidney transplants, as well as at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, where he worked in thoracic division procedures. An accomplished academician and researcher, Dr. Javed has contributed more than 50 articles in various international and national journals and textbooks. He has described innovative surgical techniques that have been published and recognized globally. He performs over 1,000 surgeries annually, specializing in minimally invasive and laparoscopic approaches for complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, oncological, and bariatric conditions.
