Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia is a dedicated interventional cardiologist with vast experience in adult, pediatric, and peripheral interventions. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his work in the field of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR) and is one of the first proctors for TAVI in India. He has to his credit one of the highest numbers of TAVI/TAVR procedures in India (more than 1000) and has also performed Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement (TPVR) in the smallest conduit in India. Dr. Chaurasia also performs Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacements (TMVR) and has a special interest in BMV and MitraClip as well. He has more than 50 left atrial appendage closures to his credit. He has been course director, course co-director, and faculty for many national and international conferences and has helped train many doctors in these procedures in India and abroad. He is an expert in complex coronary interventions like left main intervention, chronic total occlusion (CTO), and other complex procedures. He has performed more than 10,000 cardiac procedures to date and also performs ASD, VSD, PDA, pulmonary AV fistula device closures. He has a special interest in performing carotid and aortoliliac interventions, including intervention for aortic aneurysm and dissections (TEVAR and EVAR). He also has experience in advanced catheter-based treatment of hypertension (renal artery denervation). He has held roles as Director of TAVI/TAVR and Structural Heart Disease, and Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Proctor/Consultant for Medtronic CoreValve, Evolut R TAVI, and the TEVAR/EVAR system at both EHCC Jaipur and Artemis Hospitals Gurugram. He has also served as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at BLK Superspeciality Hospital (Delhi), Bankers Heart Institute (Surat), and as Assistant Professor of Cardiology at RGSH Delhi, and Associate Professor of Cardiology at CMS Bharatpur, Nepal.
