Dr. Dattatray Mazumdar is an internationally trained neurosurgeon with 23 years of experience in neurosurgery, currently practicing in Mumbai, India. He is widely recognized for popularizing the regular use of Intraoperative Electrocorticography during epilepsy surgery — a technique that has significantly enhanced surgical precision and outcomes. As the surgical counterpart of the first comprehensive epilepsy surgery care program in Western India, Dr. Mazumdar has been instrumental in performing over 600 epilepsy surgery cases between 2001 and 2019, with a particular commitment to serving underprivileged communities. Dr. Mazumdar is also a founder member of the Joint Neurooncology meetings and Tumor Board established between KEM Hospital and Tata Memorial Hospital in 1999 — a pioneering initiative in India that brought together diverse specialists for the comprehensive care of brain and spine tumor patients on a single platform.
