Currently serving as the Chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, he is recognized as a gastroenterologist, medical educator, researcher of national eminence, columnist, and philanthropist. Dr. Choudhuri holds the remarkable distinction of being the first to introduce Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Extra Corporeal Shockwave Biliary Lithotripsy in India (ESWL).
