Dr. K. R. Prasanna Kumar is a dedicated Visiting Consultant in Radiation Oncology with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers using advanced radiation techniques. With an MBBS and DND in Radiotherapy, he brings over a decade of experience in the field of oncology, having worked across some of the most reputed cancer centers and hospitals in Chennai, India. Dr. Prasanna Kumar possesses vast expertise in a wide range of external beam radiotherapy techniques, including 2D Conventional Radiotherapy, 3DCRT, IMRT, IGRT, RapidArc, SRT, X-Knife SRS, CyberKnife SRS, and SBRT, as well as brachytherapy techniques such as intracavitary, intraluminal, and interstitial HDR brachytherapy. His proficiency extends to working with diverse treatment machines including Primus, Oncor, Artiste, True Beam, CyberKnife, HDR Microselectron, and Gamma Medplus, along with planning systems such as Oncentra, Eclipse, BrainLAB, MimVista, and MultiplanCyberknife System. His thesis work focused on the analysis of acute toxicities, pathological complete response, and sphincter preservation rate of pre-operative chemoradiation in locally advanced rectal cancers — reflecting his deep academic commitment to advancing cancer treatment outcomes. He is a lifetime member of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) and is recognized for his academic excellence from an early age.
