Dr. Mita Shah is a highly experienced Senior Consultant Diabetologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, with an impressive 33 years of professional experience in the field of diabetology and endocrine medicine. With qualifications in MBBS and a Diploma in Diabetology, she brings deep clinical expertise to the management of diabetes and its associated complications, including diabetic kidney disease. Dr. Shah completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA (1985–86), which enriched her clinical and research capabilities. After returning to India, she has carried out numerous clinical research activities and has authored publications in reputed medical journals. She is also the Trustee of Narmada Kidney Foundation, an NGO dedicated to creating awareness about diabetes, prevention of diabetic kidney disease, other kidney diseases, and organ donation. Her areas of expertise include reversal of diabetes through diet and exercise, ambulatory glucose monitoring for diabetes control and complication prevention, and the use of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 analogues for the management of obesity and diabetes.
