Dr. Narmada Prasad Gupta is a distinguished Professor Emeritus in Urology and Renal Care, renowned for his extraordinary contributions to the field of urology over a career spanning more than 45 years. A true pioneer in robotic urological surgery in India, Dr. Gupta initiated robotic surgery in urology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in 2006 and has since performed the largest number of robotic surgeries in the country within his specialty. With over 30,000 operations for various urological diseases to his credit, he stands as one of the most experienced urologists in India.
Dr. Gupta's contributions extend well beyond the operating room. He has authored 6 books, produced 18 videos on urology, and contributed chapters to 9 other publications, enriching the academic landscape of urological sciences. His leadership roles include serving as President of the Urological Society of India (2007) and President of the Urological Society of Asia (2008–2010), as well as National Delegate and Board Member of Société Internationale D'Urologie (2004–2006).
