Dr. Punit Singla is a highly accomplished liver transplant and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) surgeon with extensive experience spanning over 2,000 liver transplantation procedures and complex HPB surgeries. Currently serving as Program Clinical Director at the Institute of Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery at Marengo Asia Hospitals, Faridabad, he is recognized as a pioneer in establishing independent living donor liver transplant programs in India. Dr. Singla has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the field, notably establishing the first independent living donor liver transplant program in the state of Punjab when he joined Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana in 2017. Under his guidance, the transplant team was trained to manage all types of complex cases in the ICU and operation theatre, performing both adult and pediatric liver transplants. He has also worked as Associate Consultant at Medanta – The Medicity in the Institute of Liver Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine, and established the liver transplant program at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram in 2014. His expertise encompasses a wide range of complex procedures including living donor liver transplants with IVC replacement, transplants with complex anatomy, ABO-incompatible liver transplants, resection of large liver tumors, urgent/emergency liver transplants, simultaneous liver and kidney transplantation, and split liver transplantation in cadaveric livers. He has trained numerous young liver transplant surgeons and supported various liver transplant programs across the country.
