Dr. Rituraj Baruah is an experienced Oculofacial and Orbital Surgeon with more than 20 years of expertise in ophthalmology. Currently serving as a Consultant in Ophthalmology at Medanta Gurugram, he is proficient in all kinds of advanced oculoplastic surgeries involving specialized skills and has managed numerous oculoplastic and complex ocular oncology disorders throughout his distinguished career. He is also a proficient cataract and refractive surgeon, offering comprehensive eye care to patients from India and abroad.
Dr. Baruah completed his Post Graduation (M.S.) from Gauhati Medical College in 2004 and went on to train under the renowned oculoplastic surgeon Dr. A.K. Grover at Vision Eye Centre and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. During this formative period, he was exposed to and trained in all kinds of advanced oculoplastic procedures and their applications. He subsequently joined Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, as a Senior Resident for three years, where he refined his surgical skills in oculoplasty and developed expertise in teaching.
After completing his residency, he served as a Consultant at Vision Eye Centre for seven years, performing all kinds of advanced oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Baruah has also served as a Senior Consultant at Artemis Hospital, Gurugram, and has worked as a visiting consultant for oculoplasty at many hospitals across Delhi and other states. He is trained in facial aesthetic procedures and facial trauma management in Singapore, and has contributed extensively to the field through numerous presentations, publications, and textbook chapters. He has been a guest faculty at prestigious conferences including the Delhi Ophthalmological Society annual conference, the Oculoplastic Society of India annual conference, and the Asia Pacific Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery conference in Japan.
