Dr. Sonali Bhagwat is a highly accomplished Senior General, Laparoscopic, and Breast Surgeon with 23 years of extensive clinical experience. She serves as a full-time Senior Consultant in the Department of General, GI, and Minimal Access Surgery at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai. Internationally trained and recognized for her surgical excellence, Dr. Bhagwat is an expert in major and minor general surgical procedures, including complex GI procedures, HPB, HFN, colorectal, endocrine surgery, emergency, trauma, and breast surgery. Dr. Bhagwat is proficient in performing both basic and advanced laparoscopic surgeries and was part of the pioneering team that introduced single-port laparoscopic surgery. Her academic brilliance is reflected in her receipt of the University of Mumbai Gold Medal for securing first place in Surgery in the final MBBS examination (1992) and topping the MS (General Surgery) examination (1997). She has delivered numerous scientific presentations at regional, national, and international conferences and has several publications in respected medical journals. With a deep commitment to surgical education, Dr. Bhagwat has served as Lecturer and Associate Professor in Surgery and currently serves as a University teacher and guide for the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery (FMAS) from MUHS. She also set up and currently runs the Comprehensive Breast Health Service at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, offering holistic and expert care to patients seeking breast-related treatments.
