Dr. Thiagarajan Srinivasan is a world-renowned HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) and liver transplant surgeon serving as Senior Consultant & Director at the Institute of Liver Diseases, Transplant & HPB Surgery. With over 15 years of experience in the field, he has performed more than 1,700 liver transplants — including both living and deceased donor transplants, as well as paediatric liver transplants — and has been involved in over 1,000 advanced complex open and laparoscopic hepatopancreatobiliary surgeries. A distinguished alumnus of Thanjavur Medical College and PGI Chandigarh, Dr. Thiagarajan has trained in advanced robotic and minimal access surgery at Severance Hospital (Yonsei University), Seoul, South Korea, and gained extensive experience at Medanta – The Medicity, the country's top liver transplant centre. He has to his credit more than 90 peer-reviewed scientific articles published in national and international journals, over 50 invited lectures, and numerous book chapters. His special interests include living donor liver transplants, paediatric liver transplants, complex liver resections, and ABO-incompatible transplantation. Dr. Thiagarajan holds several landmark achievements, including performing India's first and world's youngest domino liver transplant (2009), India's smallest liver transplant recipient at 6 kg, and India's first successful ABO-incompatible liver transplant. He is a dedicated researcher, award-winning surgeon, and a trainer of liver transplant and HPB surgeons from around the world.
