India and Chad enjoy cordial and growing bilateral ties, underpinned by a shared commitment to development. Healthcare and pharmaceuticals are formally identified as a priority cooperation sector in the bilateral framework, and a September 2024 high-level meeting in N'Djamena between a CII delegation and Chad's Minister of Health underscored that commitment. India's e-ArogyaBharati telemedicine network — launched by the Ministry of External Affairs in 2019 — extends tele-medicine services from Indian specialists to all 54 African nations, Chad included. Chad is also a member of India's TEAM-9 initiative, which channels technical and economic cooperation across Central and West Africa.

People-to-people ties reinforce this partnership. Chadian professionals have long availed India's fully government-funded ITEC training programme — covering fields from pharmaceuticals to renewable energy — while ICCR scholarships bring Chadian students to Indian universities each year (8 slots utilised in 2022-23; 3 in 2023-24). Airlines currently serving the N'Djamena (NDJ) to India corridor include Ethiopian Airlines (via Addis Ababa), Turkish Airlines (via Istanbul), EgyptAir (via Cairo), and Air India, all operating with at least one stop. Total door-to-door journey times to Delhi, Mumbai, or Chennai typically range from around 14 hours on the fastest connections to over 30 hours on longer two-stop routings, depending on layover durations..
