Medical Treatment in India for Togolese Patients

Treatment costs in India are considerably more affordable than equivalent care in Europe or the Gulf — a meaningful factor for patients self-funding their journey. English is widely spoken in Indian hospitals, communication tends to be clear, and the country has long experience welcoming international patients, with dedicated support structures to ease the practical challenges of seeking care far from home.

India and Togo have maintained cordial bilateral relations since India recognised the Togolese Republic at independence in 1960. Diplomatic engagement has grown steadily: Togo opened its Embassy in New Delhi in 2010, and in June 2024 the two countries held their first-ever round of Foreign Office Consultations in Lomé, agreeing to deepen cooperation across sectors. A concrete health milestone came in 2018, when Togo's Minister of Health and Social Protection attended the Fourth India-Africa Health Forum in Mumbai — a forum that maps health partnerships between India and African nations.
