Dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) embolization is a minimally invasive, catheter-based procedure used to close an abnormal direct connection between an artery and a vein within the dura mater — the tough covering surrounding the brain or spinal cord. Without this buffer, high-pressure arterial blood floods directly into the venous system, potentially causing pulsatile tinnitus, headaches, vision changes, seizures, or life-threatening brain haemorrhage.
