Medical visa from Egypt to India
Egyptian citizens are not eligible for India's online e-Visa. You apply for a Medical Visa through the Embassy of India in Cairo.
The process has two parts: complete the application form online at indianvisaonline.gov.in, then submit the printed form in person at the Consular Section with the prescribed fee and supporting documents.
You will normally be asked for: a recommendation letter from your doctor in Egypt, an invitation letter from the treating hospital in India (we arrange this free of charge), proof that you can meet the cost of treatment, and a passport valid well beyond your intended stay.
A Medical Visa is issued for up to one year or the duration of treatment, whichever is shorter. Plan for embassy processing time — this route is slower than an online visa, so start early.

What to bring
- Medical reports & scans — all recent reports, imaging (on disc or drive), prescriptions and discharge summaries, ideally also as digital copies;
- Passport & photos — valid at least 6 months beyond arrival, plus a few passport-size photographs;

- A letter from your local doctor — diagnosis and treatment history, if available;

Do I need a visa, and can I apply online?
You need a Medical Visa, and it cannot be obtained through India's online e-Visa system — Egyptian passport holders are not on the e-Visa eligible list.
