Most recently, in April 2026 India delivered two tonnes of life-saving medical supplies — including oxygen concentrators, oximeters, suction units and wheelchairs — to Shree Hindu Mandal Hospital in Dar es Salaam. A tele-medicine facility operates at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute, offering virtual medical consultation. On the people side, Tanzania is home to roughly 40,000 people of Indian origin, with a further 15,000–20,000 Indian nationals living and working there; Tanzania is also among the leading African beneficiaries of India's ITEC training programme, with an 84 per cent utilisation rate.
