Treatment costs are meaningfully lower than in many Western countries, without any sacrifice of clinical quality. The geographical proximity between Thailand and India keeps travel manageable, and a strong tradition of medical hospitality — including multilingual support staff and dedicated international patient services — means Thai patients and their families are looked after from the moment they arrive.

India and Thailand share deep civilisational roots — diplomatic relations since 1947 — and in April 2025 elevated their partnership to a full Strategic Partnership at the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok. Health has been an explicit strand of this friendship: India's Minister of Health & Family Welfare met Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health in Davos in January 2023 to discuss digital health, disease surveillance, and pandemic management, as recorded in the India–Thailand Bilateral Brief of the Ministry of External Affairs (January 2025). Ongoing bilateral dialogue between the two countries' embassies continues to cover public health and traditional medicine, and India offers around 75 scholarships annually to Thai nationals under various schemes, complementing the Indian-origin community in Thailand estimated at 4–5 lakh persons.
