The Yashoda Story
From a small medical practice to one of India’s most trusted healthcare networks — Yashoda’s journey has been marked by a series of firsts in Indian medicine.
Dr. G. Surender Rao, with his brothers, established Yashoda Hospitals — transforming a small medical practice into what would become one of South India’s most trusted healthcare providers.
The group expanded into four multispecialty hospitals across Hyderabad — Somajiguda, Secunderabad, Malakpet and Hitec City — with 2,756 beds and 62 specialties.
Yashoda commissioned India’s first 3T intraoperative MRI, giving surgeons real-time imaging during advanced brain and spine surgery.
Among the first hospitals in India to introduce 4D Gated RapidArc technology for treating moving tumours, and the first in India to perform RapidArc radiotherapy treatments for cancer patients.
Yashoda performed South India’s first robotic renal transplant and pioneered half-match bone marrow transplantation in the region.
The Bronchoscopic Thermal Vapour Ablation (InterVapor) system was installed and the first BTVA procedure in India performed at Yashoda.
Joint Commission International accreditation reinforced the network’s commitment to international standards of quality and patient safety.
